the gospel

WHO AM I?

WHAT is the gospel?

The Gospel literally means "good news"...it is the Good News of Jesus! The apostle Paul describes the Gospel as the death, the burial, and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). It's the most beautiful love story ever told, and it is 100% true. God created us to be in a relationship with Him forever. But our sin has separated us from God, and there is nothing we can do on our own to fix what has been broken. That's bad news, and it gets worse. The penalty for our sin is eternal punishment in a terrible place called Hell. But God loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to live the perfect life that you and I cannot live, and to die in our place, the death that we all deserve. Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice to pay the price for our sins, and three days later He came back to life to make the payment permanent! Now, by His grace, God offers us the gift of eternal life, if we simply trust in Christ alone for salvation. When you trust in Jesus, all your sins will be forgiven! You will enter a personal, permanent relationship with God immediately, and one day you will be with Him forever in Heaven. You can trust in Jesus as your Savior right now! Just saying a prayer won't save you, but a prayer is a great way to express, in words, the faith that is in your heart. If you're ready to trust in Jesus, you can call on Him right now and say something like this:

"Jesus, I know that you created me to be with you. I also know that my sin has separated me from you, and that I cannot save myself. But I believe that you died in my place and rose again. I trust in you to forgive me of my sins. By faith, I am entering an eternal relationship with you. Thank you for this free gift! Amen".
